FGV Europe promotes debate on the development of the cities of the future in Brazil

As a part of the Research to Business (R2B) Italy-Rio de Janeiro initiative, promoted by the Italian General Consulate in Rio de Janeiro and the Italian Embassy in Brazil, FGV Europe participates in the “II Research to Business 2021 Meeting – Projects Development for Cities of the Future in Brazil”, together with these representations. The event, which will take place on September 8th and 9th, will count with the presence of the Governor of Rio de Janeiro, Claudio Castro, the Mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, the Italian Ambassador in Brazil, Francesco Azzarello, as well as the Italian Consul General in Rio de Janeiro, Paolo Miraglia Del Giudice, among others. 

During the event, several topics will be discussed, including the importance for cities to have efficient services and resilient and sustainable infrastructures to face the challenges of urbanization, from a systemic vision for the development of smart cities in Brazil, as well as its relationship with technological innovation, aiming to generate value to the ecosystem of stakeholders that compose the urban fabric. The webinar will also discuss how to guarantee a better quality of urban life, stimulate dynamism and economic competitiveness through digital transformation, and conserve urban natural capital and related ecosystem services. In addition, bilateral cooperation to promote innovation ecosystems for sustainable urban development, in the “city-to-city cooperation” model, will be presented.
