FGV participates in the Technical Supervision Mission of the Amazon Sustainable Landscapes Project (ASL Brasil) in the Rio Negro region, Amazonas State, Brazil

On Tuesday, July 9th 2024, the team visited the Nova Esperança Community of APA on the left bank of the Rio Negro, Aturiá Apuauzinho sector, where a round of conversations took place with the community about the actions supported by the ASL, such as fishing and the training and accreditation of Volunteer Environmental Agents.

ASL Brasil has already supported the implementation of 13 Fishery Agreements and the training of 59 State Voluntary Environmental Agents.

FGV, the executing agency for phase 2 of the Amazon Sustainable Landscapes Project (ASL Brasil), participates in the Project’s Technical Supervision Mission in the Rio Negro region, Amazonas State, Brazil.

The agenda takes place in the territories of the municipalities of Manaus, Novo Airão and Barcelos from July 7th to 12th, 2024. This biannual technical supervision mission aims to monitor and promote debates on the progress and challenges of the project, to improve its execution and maximize its performance.

The construction of the agenda included the collaboration of the State Secretariat for the Environment of Amazonas (SEMA/AM), with the support of the World Bank (WB), the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MMA), CI Brasil, Funbio and Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV).

The Mission has already visited the city of Novo Airão where a Technical Seminar was held to align the main advances in Phase 1 of each Operational Unit (OU) of the project and plan perspectives for Phase 2.

The seminar featured two panels:

1. Ecological and Socio-Environmental Importance of Integrated Management Areas (IMAS); and

2. ASL Project Phases 1 and 2.

Representatives from SEMA-AM, SBIO/MMA, World Bank, MMA, UNESCO, SEMA Manaus, SEMA – Novo Airão, community representatives, CI, Funbio, and FGV participated.

Together, they aim to improve integrated landscape management in the Amazon.

FGV participa da Missão Técnica de Supervisão do Projeto Paisagens Sustentáveis da Amazônia (ASL Brasil) na região do Rio Negro, Amazonas

Esta terça-feira, 09/07/2024, a equipe esteve presente na Comunidade Nova Esperança da APA margem esquerda do Rio Negro, setor Aturiá Apuauzinho, onde aconteceu uma rodada de conversa com a comunidade sobre as ações apoiados pelo ASL, como acordos de pesca e a capacitação e credenciamento de Agentes Ambientais Voluntários.

O ASL Brasil já apoiou a implementação de 13 Acordos de Pescas e a formação de 59 Agentes, Ambientais Voluntários do Estado.

A FGV, agência executora da fase 2 do Projeto Paisagens Sustentáveis da Amazônia (ASL Brasil), participa da Missão Técnica de Supervisão do Projeto na região do Rio Negro, Amazonas, que acontece nos territórios dos municípios de Manaus, Novo Airão de 07 a 12 de julho de 2024. Esta missão de supervisão semestral tem como objetivo monitorar e promover debates sobre os avanços e desafios do projeto, com o intuito de aprimorar sua execução e maximizar sua atuação.

A construção da agenda contou com a colaboração da Secretaria de Estado de Meio Ambiente do Amazonas (SEMA/AM), com o apoio do Banco Mundial (BM), do Ministério do Meio Ambiente e Mudança do Clima (MMA), CI Brasil, Funbio e da Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV).

A Missão já passou pela cidade de Novo Airão onde foi realizado o Seminário Técnico para alinhar os principais avanços da Fase 1 de cada Unidade Operativa (UO) do projeto e planejar perspectivas para a Fase 2.
