On April 28th, GIULIANO SENATORE Head of Sustainable Agriculture and Environment at FGV Europe, participated in the High Level Meeting Brazil–Nigeria in Rio de Janeiro, in BNDES, bringing together government officials and business representatives from both countries to explore business opportunities, investment strategies, and ways to deepen bilateral cooperation.
The meeting laid the groundwork for the upcoming official visit of Brazil’s Vice-President and Minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services, Geraldo Alckmin, to Nigeria, scheduled for June.
Key highlights from the agenda included:
✅ Presentations on initiatives to attract Brazilian investment to Nigeria;
✅ Discussions on market opportunities for Brazilian companies;
✅ A round table with Brazilian companies interested in internationalization;
✅ Remarks by Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar.
The collaboration between BNDES, ApexBrasil, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC), FGV Europe, and Nigerian partners was essential in promoting meaningful dialogue and expanding avenues for mutual growth.
🤝🌱 This meeting marks another strategic step in fostering international partnerships focused on sustainable development and South–South economic integration. FGV Europe has significant experience in the region, specially after the signing of the Green Imperative Project (GIP) Implementation Agreement in Nigeria, considered one of the largest international agricultural technology transfer projects.
