FGV Europe @ COP 30

FGV Europe leads Global initiatives on Sustainability and Climate Action

During COP 30 in Belém, FGV Europe, the international branch of Fundação Getulio Vargas, reaffirms its commitment to a sustainable future by consolidating a robust portfolio of high-impact projects in environmental conservation and climate change mitigation. Operating on multiple fronts—from Amazon conservation to agricultural innovation in Africa—the organization positions itself as a key actor in the global environmental agenda.

In partnership with the World Bank, FGV Europe serves as the executing agency for two flagship projects under the Amazon Sustainable Landscapes Program (ASL), dedicated to the conservation of sustainable landscapes in the world’s largest tropical forest. These initiatives are vital to protecting biodiversity and maintaining the planet’s climate balance.

On November 14th at COP 30, FGV Europe will co-organize the event “Launch of the ASL Xingu Project: Connecting Forests, Peoples and Waters — Socioenvironmental Conservation and Sustainable Development in the Xingu” from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., in the Samaumeira Room at the Pará Pavilion, Green Zone.

In the energy sector, FGV Europe is developing a pioneering Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) project for Acelen, a company owned by Abu Dhabi’s sovereign wealth fund. The initiative promotes the cultivation of the macaúba palm in degraded areas through regenerative agriculture, generating income for small and medium farmers while driving the transition toward a low-carbon economy.

Through the Green Imperative Project (GIP), in Nigeria, —the world’s largest agricultural technology transfer program—FGV Europe leads a US$1.2 billion cooperation between Brazil and Nigeria. The project aims to modernize Nigeria’s agricultural sector with tropical farming technologies, strengthening food security and sustainable economic development.

FGV Europe also invests in developing proprietary technologies to tackle climate change. A recent example is an innovative rainwater management device that contributes to soil conservation, erosion control, and spring restoration—bringing tangible benefits to rural communities.

Our portfolio reflects a strategic vision that integrates environmental conservation, social impact, and technological innovation.

We are committed to building scalable, sustainable solutions that respond to the most urgent challenges of our time.
