FGV Europe was pleased to take part in the high-level dinner discussion, promoted by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung – “Political Polarization in Latin America – What Role for Centre-Right Parties?”, held on 23 February 2026 at the Stanhope Hotel in Brussels.
General Director of FGV Europe, Dr. Cesar Cunha Campos, joined political leaders and policymakers from across Latin America and Europe for an invitation-only Chatham House exchange on the region’s ongoing political realignment.
The discussion featured country perspectives from Brazil, Bolivia, and Chile, with contributions from leaders including Gilberto Kassab, Tomasa Yarhui, Luis Pardo Sainz, and commentary by Antonio López-Istúriz White.
Key themes included:
• The strategic positioning of centre-right parties in polarized democracies
• Electoral competitiveness in the digital era
• The rise of populist forces and institutional resilience
• Strengthening dialogue between Latin America and Europe
The exchange, moderated by Henning Suhr, provided an important platform for reflection on democratic governance and political stability in the region.
FGV Europe remains committed to fostering informed dialogue between Latin America and Europe on key political and institutional challenges.
