Strategic Meetings in Madrid on Energy, Sustainability, and Cooperation

In a mission to Madrid, Spain, for a series of strategic meetings, Cesar Cunha Campos, General Director of FGV Europe, reinforced FGV’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships and advancing dialogue between Europe and Latin America. The meetings proved very timely amid Europe’s pressing energy challenges and the need to identify new opportunities, as well as in the aftermath of President Lula’s recent visit to Spain.

Throughout the visit, key meetings were held with Ambassador Luiz Alberto Figueiredo, Brazilian Ambassador to Spain, Guilherme Vinhas, Partner at Vinhas e Redenschi Advogados, Vicente López-Ibor Mayor, Member of the Club Español de la Energía. These conversations focused on opportunities for collaboration between Brazil and Spain, particularly in areas such as sustainability, energy, and economic development. The meeting was followed by a business lunch at the renowned Forbes House in Madrid.

Another highlight was the meeting with Cristina Rivero Fernández, General Director of the Club Español de la Energía, aimed at advancing plans for future collaborations. The initiative seeks to bring together key stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition, fostering stronger connections between Europe and Latin America, in light of the EU-Mercosur trade agreement.

This mission further strengthens FGV Europe’s role as a bridge between continents, promoting knowledge exchange and the co-creation of solutions to global challenges.

Thank you for the warm hospitality and the openness to dialogue.
