EU–Mercosur Agreement: technological innovation, sustainability, and new pathways for economic development – a dialogue held in Rome

At the conference “Technology and Environment: Prospects for Italy and Brazil in the context of the EU–Mercosur Agreement,” organized by the Associazione di Amicizia Italia-Brasile, supported by FGV Europe, Cesar Cunha Campos, Director General of FGV Europe, joined high-level institutional representatives, business leaders, and experts to advance dialogue on strategic cooperation between Italy and Brazil.

In his remarks, Cesar Cunha Campos highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral and interregional partnerships to accelerate the ecological and digital transition, emphasizing the role of innovation and sustainable investment in shaping resilient and future-oriented economies.

The event brought together key stakeholders to explore:
• The geopolitical and geoeconomic dimensions of environment and natural resources
• The EU–Mercosur Agreement as a driver for trade and investment
• Opportunities in environmental and energy technologies

Held at the European Parliament Office in Italy, the seminar also featured contributions from leading policymakers, including ambassadors, members of parliament, and representatives from the European Commission and private sector.
