FGV Europe at the European Parliament in Brussels!
The “I Permanent Interinstitutional Forum on Geopolitics of Transnational Organized Crime, Financial Intelligence, and International Judicial Cooperation”, organized by FGV Europe, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Cesar Cunha Campos, and the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the State of Rio de Janeiro (MPRJ) / Ministério Público do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (MPRJ), is bringing together European and Brazilian authorities to address one of the most pressing security challenges of our time.
Hosted by MEP Ana Miguel Pedro, the opening session featured Mr. Antonio José Campos Moreira, Attorney General of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Ministério Público do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (MPRJ); Prof. Dr. Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, President of FGV – Fundação Getulio Vargas; and Ambassador Pedro Miguel da Costa e Silva, Head of the Mission of Brazil to the EU.
Discussions are focusing on the growing presence of transnational criminal networks across continents, the strategic role of technology and financial intelligence, and the urgent need to strengthen international cooperation.
The Forum highlights a fundamental reality: transnational organized crime is no longer a challenge confined to any single region.
By bringing together experts, public authorities, and policymakers from #Europe and #Brazil, the initiative seeks to foster the strategic, legal, and operational cooperation required to confront criminal networks that increasingly operate beyond national borders.
