From June 1st to 6th, the Amazon Week 2026 will take place in Brussels, Paris, Berlin, and London. This is an initiative that places the Amazon at the center of global discussions on climate change and sustainable development.
FGV – Fundação Getulio Vargas will host panel discussions in Brussels on June 3rd and June 5th, bringing together researchers, government representatives, and civil society actors from Brazil and Europe.
The goal is to advance evidence-based policy dialogue, focusing on topics such as:
- Bioeconomy
- Just transition and social inclusion
- Climate resilience and sustainable Amazonian cities
- Strategies for integrating local producers and metrics for emissions reduction
FGV Europe through its Brussels-based office, supports this initiative reinforcing the institution’s commitment to fostering strategic dialogue and strengthening cooperation between Brazil and Europe on key global challenges.
🤝 The programme reinforces scientific cooperation between Brazil and the European Union, with the participation of leading institutions such as WWF, Cemaden, the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais / Federal University of Minais Gerais, Wallonia-Brussels International, Trias NGO – Global, as well as government bodies including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation / Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação and the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC).
