FGV launches Bioeconomy Knowledge and Innovation Observatory

On November 5, at 9 am, on its YouTube channel, Fundação Getulio Vargas will launch the Bioeconomy Knowledge and Innovation Observatory, an interdisciplinary center specializing in climate change, land use and biodiversity use. Its mission is to generate applied knowledge, provide technical training and spread information to help Brazil in its transition to a low-carbon economy.

The Observatory, based at the Center for Agribusiness Studies (FGVAgro), is staffed by professors and researchers from the Sao Paulo School of Economics (FGV EESP), Sao Paulo Law School, Sao Paulo School of Business Administration (FGV EAESP) and Brazilian Institute of Economics (FGV IBRE). The project also involves a network of external collaborators and other research institutions.

The launch event will feature Professor Roberto Rodrigues, a former agriculture minister and coordinator of FGV EESP’s Center for Agribusiness Studies (FGVAgro); and Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, Fundação Getulio Vargas’ president.

Other speakers will include Alysson Paolinelli, the president of the Future Forum; Pedro Barros, the agribusiness director of Banco Itau BBA; and Marcio de Freitas, the president of the Organization of Brazilian Cooperatives.
