FGV Europe participates actively in the annual OECD Forum, holding presentations and presenting high-level research, studies, and analyzes. This partnership involves the creation of studies, publications, and seminars, among other initiatives. In addition, the partnership was also highlighted at the launch of the Portuguese version of the OECD’s “Index for a Better Life” in 2014, as being responsible for translating, updating, and promoting the Index to the Portuguese-speaking public worldwide. Furthermore, FGV organised a meeting in Paris in 2018 with members of the Brazilian judiciary, and OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría, and other directors of the institution. The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen our partnership with the OECD and to extend its thematic scope to the area of Law.
FGV Europe has been closely monitoring the accession process of Brazil to the OECD and promotes the development of closer relations between both. In 2015, FGV had the opportunity to witness the signing of the cooperation agreement between the OECD and Brazil, a milestone for Brazil, the OECD, and FGV.
In 2020, In times of severe economic and social crises due the COVID-19 pandemic, it is of great importance to spread qualitative and reliable analyses. Thus, FGV Europe worked together with the OECD to provide the content of this platform in Portuguese free of charge. To know more, click here.
This platform was created as part of the OECD’s commitment to providing its experience and technical expertise to governments around the world. The institution supports the development of effective policies, to delay the spread of COVID-19 and mitigate its economic and social impact – in the areas of health, taxes, labor and employment, SMEs, education, science and technology, trade and investment, and much more.
Recently, Marcelo Neri, Director of FGV Social, wrote an article for the OECD. The article reflects on the impacts of COVID-19 in elderly people in Brazil.
Moreover, Luiz Gustavo, Executive Manager of FGV, also contributed with an article regarding the impacts of COVID-19 on the tourism sector in Brazil.
